Culture Craze
Southampton has a rich culture filled with amazing historical moments that we’re sure will shock you! Did you know the cities Hurst Castle, was built five centuries ago by Henry VIII. Hurst has served as a prison for kings as well as a modern war battalion and armory. This is the city that the Titanic set off on its maiden voyage in 1912 and you can see the history of the Titanic at the Sea City Museum. For novel fans, Jane Austen lived in Southampton between 1806 and 1809. She stayed in a rented house in Castle Square, you can now visit this house and see where her journey began.
